Bill Olczak-Director of Operations and Maintenance
Bill has been involved with Mystic Mountain Training Center since its conception, owning the property that Mystic Mountain sits on. He has served as Treasurer, Canoeing Director, Adult Supervisor of the Challenge Course, Advisory Council Member, and Director of Operations and Maintenance. Bill married Denise in 1974. They have two sons, Zachary and Caleb and a daughter-in-law, Marie. Bill graduated from Penn State University with a major in metallurgy and worked as a metallurgist for Erie Malleable Iron Company. Along with his wife, Denise, he is a co-owner and breeder of the Mystic Curlies, and was a home school educator for 12 years. He currently owns and operates two small businesses in Edinboro and Erie. Bill has spent endless hours designing and building all of the Mystic Mountain buildings.
Denise Olczak-Executive Director
Denise has been involved with Mystic Mountain Training Center since its conception, owning the property that Mystic Mountain sits on. She has served as a Board Member, Advisory Council Member, Horsemanship Director, and Executive Director of the Training Center. Denise is a graduate of Mercyhurst College with a major in Environmental Education. She was the first hired naturalist at Presque Isle State Park, the first Environmental Education Specialist for Asbury Woods Nature Center, an Energy Education Specialist for the PA Department of Education, a Solar Energy Education Specialist for the Federal Department of Energy. Along with her husband, Bill she is a business owner in Edinboro & Erie and owner and breeder of Mystic Curlies, and she was a Home School educator for 12 years. Denise has a passion to teach children about the love of God through outdoor education and experiences.
Jessica Maynard-BTB Coordinator & Leadership Training
Jessica has been involved with Mystic Mountain Training Center since its beginning in 2001. She has served as a Board Member, Advisory Council Member, Horse Instructor, Photographer, Administrative Assistant, and Director of the Beyond the Blue theater program. She has also started the Mystic Mountain Worship Team, and written seven of our summer camp drama programs where children learn valuable life lessons through engaging skits, songs, and blacklight performances. Jessica graduated from the Erie County Home School Association in 1999 and then graduated from Mercyhurst University with an Associates Degree in Business Administration. Jessica is a stay-at-home-mom of 3, an author, song writer, and Jesus worshiper. She has a strong passion to see children come to saving knowledge of Christ Jesus.
Marie Olczak-Assistant Director & Event Coordinator
Marie became involved with Mystic Mountain in 2017 during the construction of our Event Center. Here is where she met her husband Caleb and got married in January of 2018.
Marie serves as our Event Coordinator- organizing various classes and doing the website design. She also assists with the horse program. Marie graduated from Malone University in 2015 with a youth ministry degree, and also serves as the worship leader at the Sandy Lake Wesleyan Church. Her love of Jesus, adventure, the outdoors, and animals makes her a wonderful addition to MMTC.
Rev. Amber J. Shearer-Pastor & Consultant
Amber started on staff in 2001 when The Great Adventure Day Camp first launched. She was an Archery Instructor and on the BTB Team until she graduated from High School. It was at MMTC that she caught the "camp bug" and was called into ministry. Amber graduated from Edinboro University in 2009 with a Bachelor's degree in Communications and in 2011 with a Master's degree in Leadership from Denver Seminary. She is an ordained minister and has served at many camps in various roles, including an Executive Director at Christian camps in Wyoming and Montana. Amber recently moved back to the area and is now serving MMTC in a full-time capacity. She enjoys hanging out in coffeeshops, driving down country roads, having deep conversations, and showing Jesus' radical love to people. Her dream is to start her own Christian camp in the next few years.
